37 Arrested in 3 Districts of Capital for Various Crimes
Dhaka: In a recent crackdown on crime in the districts of Mohammadpur, Adabar, and Kotwali in the capital, the police have apprehended 37 individuals involved in various criminal activities. Among those arrested, 13 were from Mohammadpur, 13 from Adabar, and 11 from Kotwali.
The individuals taken into custody include Tanjil (21), Bachhed Khandakar (40), Hridoy (28), Tapon Mia (48), Sohel (26), Sakib (21), Arif (19), Shakil (19), Nazmul (18), Mahfuz Vishwas (19), Ratul (19), Lamin (26), Hamida Begum (30), and Sharifur Nahar, among others.
On Wednesday, the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Media and Public Relations Department, Mohammad Talebur Rahman, confirmed the arrests.
On Tuesday, operations were conducted in the crime-prone areas under the jurisdiction of Adabar, Mohammadpur, and Kotwali police stations, leading to the apprehension of the suspects.
According to sources from the respective police stations, the arrested individuals include professional active robbers, thieves, drug dealers, convicts, and various other criminals.
The arrests were made on Tuesday in Mohammadpur, Adabar, and Kotwali areas where the police initiated a special operation against criminal activities.
