Kolkata: In a meeting on the Kashmir issue, the failure of the opposition to discuss the issue has been acknowledged by the Modi government. Yesterday (April 24), the issue of the Pulwama incident was raised in a joint meeting at the Parliament building in India.

The Defense Minister of India, Rajnath Singh, led all the top leaders of the country’s political parties present at the meeting. They all expressed their full support for whatever steps the central government takes on the Kashmir issue.

During the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah said, “If there’s no mistake, why are we sitting here? We need to find out where the failure has occurred.” At the end of the meeting, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said, “We want peace to return to Kashmir as soon as possible.” Rahul Gandhi will soon visit the Anantnag district of Kashmir, where treatment for the injured is ongoing.

Regarding the meeting, TMC Congress MP Sudip Bandopadhyay said, “We stand by the government against terrorism. The whole country has to fight against this terrorism unitedly.” Messages have been sent to the Prime Minister from all political parties. We have requested to meet with the Prime Minister.

After the meeting today, Minister of State Kiran Rijiju said, “At today’s meeting, the top officials of the Central Intelligence Department and the government briefed the members of Parliament in detail. It has been informed where the error occurred and in what circumstances this attack happened. The whole country is united in this difficult time.”

Present at the meeting today were NCIP (Sharad Pawar Group) MP Supriya Sule, NCIP MP Praful Patel, AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Biju Janata Dal MP Soumya Patra, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MP Sri Krishna Devaralu, TMC MP Sudip Bandopadhyay, Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde, AAP MP Sanjay Singh, DMK MP T. Shiva, National People’s Party MP Premchand Gupta, Socialist Party MP Ramgopal Yadav.

Before that, on Wednesday evening, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar and the top officials of the Intelligence Department briefed all the leaders of the political parties on the Pulwama incident. There, Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi said, “All political parties have condemned this barbaric attack together and I fully support the government to take any action.” Looking towards the Prime Minister, Rahul said, “Take action. We will support you fully.”
