So, there was this crazy incident in Tangail where a farmer, Shamsul, got murdered and his mother and daughter got sentenced to life imprisonment. Like, what even happened there, right?
The court in Tangail decided to give Rahimun and her daughter Rojina the life sentence in connection with the murder of Shamsul. Apparently, back in February 19, 2014, Shamsul was just minding his own business working in the field near Abdul Rajjak’s house in Kakua village. And then, out of nowhere, Abdul Rajjak, his wife Rahimun, daughter Rojina, and son Rafiqul Islam attacked Shamsul with local weapons. Poor guy didn’t stand a chance.
After the attack, Shamsul was rushed to Tangail General Hospital by the locals and then later transferred to Dhaka for better treatment. Unfortunately, he didn’t make it and passed away. And if that wasn’t enough drama, on February 22 of the same year, Shamsul’s wife Jamiron Begum filed a murder case at Tangail Sadar Police Station. The whole family of Abdul Rajjak got dragged into this mess, with the police receiving a complaint from them on September 7, 2014. It’s like a never-ending cycle of violence and revenge, right?
I mean, the lawyer, Shahjahan Kabir, mentioned that they finally got the right judgment. The legal proceedings against Rafiqul Islam are expected to wrap up soon. And then you have Jamiron Begum, the plaintiff, claiming that justice has been served. She’s trying to prove that Rafiqul Islam is not a child, despite mentioning him in the complaint. She’s really pushing for his execution. Just another day in the crazy world of crime and punishment, I guess.
