Okay, so like, there’s this whole new thing happening where Anisul Haque, Salman F Rahman, Deepu Moni, and Kamrul Islam got arrested in different cases, right? It’s like a big deal or something. The ex-advisor to Sheikh Hasina, Salman F Rahman, the former Law Minister Anisul Haque, the ex-Social Welfare Minister Dr. Deepu Moni, and the former Food Minister Kamrul Islam were all taken into custody.
So, on Monday in Dhaka, Metropolitan Magistrate M A Azharul Islam approved their arrest, and before that, Deepu Moni and Kamrul Islam were requested to be arrested in connection with the murder of Mo. Monir at Shahbagh Police Station, and Salman F Rahman and Anisul Haque were requested to be arrested in connection with the murder of Masud at Kadamtali Police Station. They were brought to court for a hearing on these applications in the morning. Following this, the investigating officers of these cases filed petitions to show them arrested.
At this time, the state side heard the application to arrest them in connection with the murder case of Masud, who was shot in a building called Paradise Palace in Mirajnagar of Kadamtali Police Station during an anti-oppression movement on the 19th of July last year. He succumbed to his injuries around 1:30 am. In response to this incident, his wife Hena Begum filed a case at Kadamtali Police Station on the 4th of September, along with 118 others including Sheikh Hasina.
On the other hand, in connection with the murder case of Monir, it was learned that on the 5th of August, in the afternoon, protesters were present at Chourasta of Palashi, adjacent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, where Monir was shot dead. Following this incident, his wife Rujina Akhtar filed a case in court on the 14th of March, along with 351 others including the ex-Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
So, like, these cases are pretty serious, you know? Not really sure why this matters, but it seems like a big deal. Maybe it’s just me, but it feels like there’s more to these arrests than meets the eye. Let’s see how this all plays out in court, right?
