So, like, there’s this whole thing happening, right? In Kashmir, like, three Bengali tourists were killed in some terror attack or whatever, and their bodies are being brought back to Kolkata. The victims were, like, Samir Guha from Kolkata’s Bajra Bazaar, Bitan Adhikari from Vaishnavghat, and Manish Ranjan Mishra from Purulia.
The Chief Minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee, was all like questioning the role of the Indian military in the Kashmir incident. She told the media on Wednesday that terrorists have no religion, so like, they can’t be forgiven. But, I dunno, it’s been a while and they keep killing people. And there were a lot of army folks there, and the border area is pretty sensitive, you know?
Mamata also said she doesn’t wanna talk about this right now, but she wants strict action against those responsible for the attack. The question of tolerating terrorist activities doesn’t even arise. Like, on Tuesday, armed men launched a brutal attack on tourists in the popular Basiron area of Pahalgam. According to the latest info, 28 people lost their lives in the attack.
Local sources say the terrorists carried out their movement for about half an hour. They targeted male tourists after confirming their identities. Then they fled the scene. This raises Mamata’s question, why couldn’t the army reach there in time? She also mentioned that the area is near the Pakistan border, so why was security so lax there?
The CM informed that the bodies of the three individuals will be brought to the state by air. Manish Ranjan’s body will reach Purulia, while the bodies of the other two will arrive in Kolkata by 8 PM tonight. The state government is making all kinds of arrangements for the deceased tourists. Necessary steps are being taken to bring back the remaining tourists.
Meanwhile, the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization has claimed responsibility for the attack. But, like, the Indian government hasn’t made any official statement yet. In this situation, the state BJP is burning Pakistan’s flag in protest.
On Wednesday evening, BJP workers protested outside the BJP party office near Howrah station, raising slogans on Kashmir issue. The protest led to a traffic jam on Jessore Road.
The West Bengal BJP alleges that the attack in Kashmir was carried out with Pakistan’s support. Their workers can be seen burning the flag on the street to show their anger.
So, yeah, that’s the whole scoop on the Bengali tourists killed in Kashmir. Seems like a pretty intense situation, don’t you think?
