Kazi Nazrul Islam’s birthday is celebrated on 11th Jaishtha, 25th May. He is known for his poetry, songs, novels, and stories, which resonate with the language of heroism and rebellion. The Bengali poet is deeply rooted in the emotions and feelings of the Bengalis as a perpetual rebel. In honor of the national poet Kazi Nazrul’s birth anniversary, Bangladesh Television (BTV) has organized various events.
In the morning at 9 o’clock, the children’s program ‘Duronto Nazrul’ will be broadcasted. The program, featuring dance, songs, poetry, and the play ‘Kanamachi,’ is presented by the children of Shishu Academy. At 4:05 PM, there will be a solemn event at the poet’s memorabilia sites. At 5:35 PM, there will be a musical dance program featuring Nazrul’s songs and poems. An evening discussion program will be broadcasted at 6 PM, followed by a recitation program of Nazrul’s poetry at 7 PM. The special musical program ‘Ganer Mala’ will be aired at 8:50 PM, featuring performances by various artists like Fatema Tuz Johora, Yakub Ali Khan, Salauddin Ahmed, Ferdous Ara, Yasmin Mushtari, Chhanda Chakraborty, Sharmin Sathi Islam, Bijon Chandra Mistri, Shahid Kabir Palash, Tanjina Karim Swarlipi, and Dr. Ashik Sarkar. The music direction for the program is done by AK Azad Mintu.
The literary program ‘Sabyasachi Nazrul’ will be broadcasted at 10 PM. This program, presented by Priyanka Gop, combines songs, poetry, and dance.
