In a heart-wrenching incident that has sent shockwaves through the community of Sirajganj, a 9-year-old child has become the victim of a heinous crime. The alleged perpetrator, a 15-year-old adolescent named Mohammad Ali, stands accused of assaulting the young child, who has since been admitted to the hospital.
The incident unfolded on Thursday night in Rayganj, when the child’s father, overwhelmed with anguish, filed a complaint at the local police station. The child, a student in the second grade and a resident of a village in the Pangaashi Union, fell prey to the assault. The accused, Mohammad Ali, is the son of Abdul Alim from the neighboring village of Naruya.
Officer-in-Charge of Rayganj Police Station, Mr. Asaduzzaman, confirmed the filing of the case, stating that Mohammad Ali took the child to his own home and committed the assault. Upon receiving the complaint from the child’s father, the authorities promptly initiated legal proceedings in response to the distressing ordeal.
The child’s family and local residents reveal that Abdul Alim’s home in Naruya village houses a daycare center where the child had been left in the care of Mohammad Ali, Abdul Alim’s son. That fateful Sunday morning, as the child arrived to meet his younger siblings at the center, he faced the harrowing assault at the hands of Mohammad Ali within the confines of his own home. Subsequently, the child fell ill, prompting Mohammad Ali to try to revive him by splashing water on his face before sending him back home.
Later that day, when the child fell ill again, the family members were informed of the assault. With the child’s father absent from home, relatives took him to a private hospital in Sirajganj city for medical attention. However, due to his deteriorating condition, he was eventually transferred to Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital on Thursday.
Dr. Raihan Khandakar, responsible for the child’s care at Shaheed M. Monsur Ali Medical College Hospital, has reported that the child is currently stable and out of danger. The investigation into the assault is ongoing, with examinations and assessments being carried out to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
The community of Sirajganj has been left reeling from this disturbing event, as they grapple with the implications of such a heinous crime committed against an innocent child. As the authorities continue their efforts to uncover the truth and deliver justice, the local residents are left to reflect on the safety and well-being of their children in the wake of this tragic incident.
