So, you know, like, the government and stuff, they were like, “No gatherings near the Jamuna and stuff.” But, like, the students from Jagannath University were like, “Nah, we’re gonna hang out near Kakrail anyway.” And the police were there, just chillin’, you know?
On Friday morning, the students were all, like, protesting and stuff near the Jamuna building with their banners and slogans. They were demanding their three-time allowance and the teachers were there too, supporting them and stuff. From May 14, the students and teachers from the university have been protesting there. Like, the day before on May 13, they even went to the University Grants Commission-Education and stuff, but nothing really happened, so on May 14, they started this whole “Long March to Jamuna” thing.
And then, like, when they reached the Kakrail Mosque crossing, there was, like, a clash with the police, you know? Some students got hurt and had to go to the hospital and stuff. And now, the whole area around Kakrail is, like, filled with the students from Jagannath University protesting. It’s, like, causing a lot of traffic issues, you know? So, like, the commuters are, like, suffering because of it.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police from the Media and Public Relations Department, Muhammad Talebur Rahman, was, like, saying that the police are, like, doing their duty at the protest site. And, like, the General Secretary of the Teachers’ Association at the university was, like, expressing solidarity with the students and stuff. They’re all, like, united in this cause, you know? So, like, we gotta support them and stuff.
I’m not really sure why this matters, but, like, I guess we should all, like, stand together or something? Like, if the government tries to mess with us, we should, like, push back, you know? We won’t let this protest be confined to Kakrail Point or anything. Like, who knows where it will go, right? We’re not taking responsibility for that.
So, yeah, that’s, like, the whole situation near Kakrail and stuff. Just a bunch of students and teachers protesting and causing chaos, you know? But, like, maybe it’s just me, but I feel like they have a point or something. Like, we should all, like, stand up for what we believe in, you know? Just my two cents.
