Dhaka: The decision to ban the political activities of the Awami League has received a mixed reaction from the anti-discrimination student movement, another organizer of the movement, and the main organizer of the National Citizen Party (NCIP), Hasanat Abdullah. He said, “I see the government’s decision as indicative. If we get a notice on Monday, we will hold a victory rally.”

On Saturday night, at half past three, he made this announcement at a press conference. At this time, he asked everyone to go home. He said, “On Monday, we will receive a notice, and we will hold a victory rally with that notice. Today, you all go home. We will inform you of the next schedule after the notice is issued.”

Before this, in the last three days of intense agitation (Saturday, May 10), in a special meeting of the advisory council, until the completion of the trial of the Bangladesh Awami League and its leaders in the International Crimes Tribunal, the decision to ban the ongoing activities of the Awami League, including cyber space, was taken.

Earlier, the fraternal organization of the party, Chhatra League, was banned. This time, the ongoing activities of the Awami League were banned. As a result, the party’s leaders and workers fell into a bigger trouble.
