Justice for Ruhin Hossen Prince: Child’s Death Blamed on Culprit
In a heart-wrenching turn of events, Ruhin Hossen Prince, the general editor of Bangladesh’s Communist Party (CPB), has come forward to declare that the death of the child in Magura was a result of our collective shame and criminal negligence. The tragic incident has sent shockwaves across the nation, prompting questions about the escalating violence and how such atrocities continue to plague our society.
The CPB organized a protest against rape and harassment on Friday, March 14th, at Polton Moor in Dhaka. It was here that Prince voiced his sentiments, expressing deep concern over the rampant bloodshed, violence, and terrorism that have left the country’s governance in disarray. Alongside him were Dhaka North Metropolitan Committee President Sajedul Haq Rubel, led by Luna Noor, and other prominent figures like Hasan Hafizur Rahman and Motaleb Hossen, as well as women’s rights activist Rokeya Begum.
As the gathering commenced, a protest march circled the Polton area, highlighting the growing discontent and unrest prevailing throughout the nation. Prince emphasized that the unabated murder, rape, injustice, and terrorism were indicative of the government’s failure to maintain order. Mired in political turmoil, the country’s lack of decisive action and prolonged inaction have fueled public outrage and calls for change.
He urged immediate electoral reforms to ensure fair national elections. Without securing the rights of the people to vote, without forming a government based on the people’s mandate, the country will not achieve stability, nor will the rampant abuse against women cease, endangering the safety of the citizens.
President Sajedul Haq Rubel echoed Prince’s sentiments, stating that the entire nation is outraged by the child’s death. The powerless incumbent government has proven incapable of controlling the murders, rapes, or the escalating terrorism, with the specter of terrorism looming over their heads. The government’s ineffective measures have allowed this wave of terrorism to persist unchecked.
Following the gathering, leaders called on the government to immediately announce the election date and demanded a transfer of power to an elected government. The time has come for a shift in power to a democratically elected administration to pave the way for change.
The incident has gripped the nation in fear and sorrow, underscoring the urgent need for reform and accountability. As the country grapples with escalating violence and unrest, the voices of the people are calling for justice, demanding a safer, more secure future for all.
