Especially concerning is the recent incident at Banani, where a student named Jahidul Islam Parvez from a private university was brutally murdered for some petty reason. I mean, who does that? This kind of senseless violence is just, like, mind-boggling, you know?
Experts are saying that the increase in social violence is due to a decline in moral values, which is like a big deal, obviously. People are feeling unsafe even in their own homes, which is not cool at all. It’s like, why can’t we all just get along, you know?
The police report reveals that there were 316 murders in the country last month, which is, like, a lot to handle. Most of the murders occurred in Dhaka Range, where 66 people were killed. In Chittagong Range, 65 people were killed, in Khulna Range, 35 people were killed, and in Dhaka city alone, 33 people were murdered. That’s just too much, man.
The reasons behind most of these murders, according to police investigations, include political rivalries, personal conflicts, drug trafficking, land disputes, family feuds, property disputes, extramarital affairs, violent behavior, greed, family conflicts, and obstruction of justice. It’s like a total mess out there, you know?
Dr. Iftikhar Uddin Chowdhury, a social and crime analyst, believes that the increase in all forms of crime is mainly due to the moral degradation and greed of people. Also, the lack of strict enforcement of laws against criminals and political interference is not helping the situation at all. It’s like a recipe for disaster, if you ask me.
So, like, the police are, you know, doing their thing by investigating these incidents thoroughly and taking necessary actions at the respective police stations. But, like, there’s still a lot of work to be done to catch all the criminals out there, you know?

In Tangail, Professor Omar Farooq from Maulana Bhasani Science and Technology University said that the law enforcement in the country is weak right now. So, it’s important to enforce the law more strictly to prevent the erosion of ideals and values. Also, social institutions need to be strengthened to maintain order in society. It’s like, we need to get our act together, you know?
