Safe and Pure Himayat Meat and Milk Benefits
In a bustling market in Mohammadpur, Dhaka, a campaign was launched to raise awareness about the importance of consuming safe and healthy Himayat meat and milk. The event kicked off with a focus on the slogan “Conscious Consumers, Healthy Families – Priority to Safe Himayat Meat and Milk” and is set to continue until March 18th. Organized at various locations in the capital by IRG Development Services Limited with the support of the World Bank, the campaign aims to shed light on the significance of Himayat food products in promoting a safe and pure diet.
The Importance of Safe Food Consumption
Dhaka District Livestock Officer Basana Akhter emphasized the need to break free from the misconception that all food available in the market is safe. She highlighted the risks associated with consuming contaminated meat that has been left exposed for long periods, making it susceptible to bacterial contamination. Akhter stressed that investing in Himayat products ensures a safer and healthier option compared to conventionally sourced meat and milk.
Furthermore, the improper disposal of waste from livestock, such as poultry and cattle, has led to environmental degradation at local markets, increasing the risk of disease transmission. The lack of proper management of blood, excrement, and urine contaminates the soil, air, and water, resulting in unsafe food products. Raising awareness about these issues has become crucial to combat the growing health risks associated with contaminated food items.
Expert Insights on Safe Food Practices
Professor Dr. S.M. Fakhru Islam, a prominent agricultural and livestock economist and team leader of the project, emphasized the need to dispel common misconceptions regarding food preservation methods. He debunked the notion that storing food in refrigerators diminishes its taste, highlighting the fact that modern Himayat preservation techniques maintain the authentic flavor and nutritional value of food products.
Dr. S.M. Rajiur Rahman, an expert in animal nutrition and health, cautioned against the misconception that fresh meat from local markets is always of superior quality. He explained the dangers of consuming meat that has been exposed for extended periods, as it can quickly deteriorate due to bacterial contamination, posing severe health risks. Additionally, pasteurized milk, chilled milk, and UHT milk are considered safe and healthy options, as they undergo advanced processing methods to eliminate harmful bacteria, ensuring daily consumption of nutritious food.
The Chairman of IRG Development Services Limited, Sukhranjan Sutar, emphasized that increasing public awareness is crucial in establishing safe dietary practices. He highlighted that by enhancing public consciousness, we can reduce health risks for future generations through the adoption of safe and healthy eating habits.
In conclusion, fostering a culture of conscious consumption plays a pivotal role in ensuring a healthier society. By prioritizing safe and pure food options like Himayat meat and milk, individuals can safeguard their well-being and contribute to a sustainable food ecosystem.
