Dhaka: Goyeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the BNP’s permanent committee, mentioned Yunus’s success as being successful in carrying out his responsibilities as the chief advisor. He said that his success means the success of the July-August movement.
“If we say we will march on the road tomorrow, then I don’t think Dr. Yunus can stay for 24 hours,” said Goyeshwar Chandra Roy. “But we want Dr. Yunus to succeed.” His success means the success of the July-August movement. Those who want the crown of the July movement today, their crown has been given long ago. We have given it too.
“We fought for independence and did not enter the secretariat until we became ministers. But, why do they (anti-corruption leaders) go to the secretariat so frequently, why do they go to the DC office? If the nation has raised them from their heads, then what is the nation responsible for if they fall at their feet?” he added.
Critiquing the incumbent government, he said, corruption has not decreased in the country, rather it has increased. The corrupt officials of the Awami League are still in power. This government has not taken any initiative to stop corruption! How many people have been arrested? They have not even attempted to arrest them. They have not even held trials.
